Madrid
Congratulations! You have won a one week trip to Madrid during the month of October (OK, not really, but you are going to pretend that you will).
You must spend under $4000 total.
You must create an Excel spreadsheet of all expenses. You must create a Powerpoint or a binder of your itinerary. Use any travel website to aid in planning your trip.
1.) Write an itinerary for the week. You must begin your itinerary with stating what you will pack, your airline info (with flight information, cost and lay-overs), and your hotel information. The information from the airline and hotel can be cut and pasted.
2.) You itinerary must include where you went each day. You must go somewhere everyday. Although you are travelling alone and must do your own project, you are allowed to meet classmates at museums or restaurants. This information cannot be cut and pasted, it must be in your own words. Include all entrance fees for museums and restaurant totals.
3.) You must leave Madrid for one day and rent a car or take a bus to a nearby city. Paris, Rome and London are not nearby, your nearby city must be in Spain.
4.) You can't forget your family and friends back home. You must buy at least one souvenir for someone and include the cost.
5.) You must attend at least one sporting event. Include a bullfight or research the schedule for Real Madrid soccer team.
6.) You must include a map of the city of Madrid. Appropriate pictures of the places you visit is also expected.
7.) Below is the rubric on how you will be graded.
You will be graded on a twenty point scale, with a maximum of four points in each of the following areas:
Knowledge=student shows adequate knowledge of what happened and how it happened
Content= student can identify all characters by name and occupation
Mechanics= very few typos and grammatical mistakes
Length=student must have all six sections and significant information in each section
Design=student uses appropriate graphics, includes a picture of event (or person if your article is about a person) on title page, and doesn’t include inappropriate or too many graphics
